How Homeopathic Remedies Are Prepared and Their Side Effects

Homeopathy can work wonders on certain people, and it works for most people who take part in the method. As a result, doctors are learning more and more about homeopathy from not only the people who are cured by it, but by those who aren’t as well. You may be considering homeopathy as a treatment, but you may be wondering how remedies are prepared, and what side effects can occur from these methods. The article below will elaborate on several remedies and what happens while you’re taking the drugs or participating in scenarios.

Homeopathic Remedies

The possibilities for homeopathic remedies are nearly endless, so one cannot possibly pinpoint all the different combinations and remedies available in the homeopathic method. There are eight main drugs used in the homeopathic method, and there are several others that are used, but not as frequently as the eight most popular ones. Each drug cures a different symptom of depression. There are also combinations tried by psychologists to try and help make a person feel better. Some elements working in these combinations include nutrition, exercise, people, and even music. Someone could need only one drug, or a combination of more than one, or a combination of drugs and people, or no drugs but people and nutrition, and so on and so forth. Below are some scenarios, and the side effects that will follow.

Someone is prescribed a mixed medication of sepia, Ignatia, and Pulsatilla. The Pulsatilla dosage was in excess, and it turned out that the person did not need the sepia at all. The symptoms meant to be cured by the Pulsatilla actually worsen, because unnecessary amounts were given to the patient. The doctor’s wrong evaluations for the necessity for sepia appeared after the patient started taking the drug sepia, but were not present before. Thus, the patient is likely to feel worse than before, and the treatment won’t work. The doctor must then to a re-evaluation, this time lessening the dosage of Pulsatilla, and deciding whether it is necessary to keep sepia part of the prescription. The side effects in this situation were worsening, as well as new, symptoms.

A patient is told to eat three certain foods and exercise daily. The food is not a problem, but the patient finds that when she exercises she gets happy while exercising, but afterwards, she gets more depressed than before, and she also feels very fatigued after she is through. The doctor prescribes a drug that cures fatigue so that the patient is able to exercise more frequently. However, after taking the drug, the patient discovers that she is exhibiting new, more depressive symptoms—symptoms the drug for fatigue were supposed to cure but were absent in the patient in the first place. The side effects here are newly appearing symptoms, as well as fatigue and depression after exercising.

Other Side Effects From Homeopathic Drugs

Homeopathic drugs can also have physical side effects, such as certain illnesses. For example, the Lachesis muta snake venom can cause nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, and when used in excess, can even kill you due from an attack to the heart. Kila Phosphoricum has common side effects of headaches, nausea, and diarrhea. The plant Kila Phosphoricum was derived from (black hoshosh) was even thought at one time to cause hepatitis, but that has never actually been proven. The reason side effects occur is because at first, the body may be not be accepting of the new substance in the body, and is trying to rid itself of it. This is normal, and the body will adjust accordingly. Also, small allergic reactions to certain drugs can be a cause of side effects. If the body reacts seriously to the allergy, however, someone could seriously be in trouble.
